（３）Akoh Seaside Park

　It is a park built in a trace of an old salt farm faced on the Sea of
Harima located in the west of the Inland Sea National Park located
in Misaki.
　The park has characteristic institutions of "Country of Salt" and
of a sea science museum.

○Country of Salt

　"Country of Salt" is the thing restoring a salt farm of Akoh.
　History of a salt farm begin in the Nara period. Salt made in Akoh
has been famous since Naganao Asano entered a country.
　He helped spread a salt farm and improve salt making and develop
a market for Edo,and in one generation he succeeded in increasing
production of about 2000koku.　But on Shouwa 46 December 19,salt
making depending on a salt farm was abolished.
　"Country of Salt" is restored salt farms of Agehama method and of
Irihama method and of Ryuka method and a salt-works. In a salt farm
of Irihama method we can experience of works to make salts and in
Kamaya we can inspect works to make salts,and in an experience
control office we can practice salt making.

○Ocean Science Museum


Ocean Science Museum	in museum(invitation in the sea)

　As a main theme of "the Setouchi Sea and salt" the Ocean
Science Museum opened in Ako Seaside Park in JuIy the 62th year of
Showa.The apperance that imitated the twin trunk ship matches an
image of the see very mach.
　The usual exhibition is composed of four themes,"Invitation in the
sea," 　"Welcome to Ako"　"Iet's know the sea " "Gallery of salt" and
it explains the physical chemical characteristic of the nature and salt
in Ako.

　Each of special exhibition and pian ekhibition that introduces the
nature and creature in Nishi-Harima and Setouchi-area around Ako os
held once a year too.
