Historical Spots in Ako(12)


Jingoji temple


 It has been handed down that "Shingo temple"had been built by
Mongakujojin(about 800 years ago). In the latter 16th in the war
which had something to do with conquest China of Hideyoshi
Toyotomi it was burned. As a result it was rebuilt. But we cannot
find the old trace because of this temple's wildness.
 But it has been handed down that Oishike loved this place,and
built cottage in this temple, enjoyed and loved this nature since
Asanoke ruled Ako.

Jingoji Temple

 There were left Yoshitaka Oishi's chouzubachi of dedication,
Mokkoku made by Yoshitaka,Ishitoro of Yoshitaka and so on inthis
temple. And Fudomyoouritsuzo(108cm),Bisyatenmonritsuzo(120cm)
which were kept safely in the temple,and were presumed as things
of 800 years ago have historical high value as Chihoubutsu of
Sangaku-bukkyo.
 And they are designated important cultural properties of the city.
Now,they are kept safely in Chouraku temple in Manago.
